A laid-back fantasy arrives with A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life

The editorial alphapolis announced that the light novels written by howahowa shiina and illustrated by Yamaada, A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life (Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudouki), will have an anime adaptation. The press release revealed a promotional image for the project, but did not provide production details or a scheduled release date.
The author howahowa shiina shared a message after the announcement:
- «When I heard that they were going to do the anime adaptation, I thought it was a joke. I was waiting for my novels to be converted into anime, but I never thought that would actually happen. I’m even touched by the fact that the characters I’ve created are animated. I hope you too will enjoy the heartwarming adventures of Earth and her friends.».

howahowa shiina and Yamaada began publishing the light novels through the publisher alphapolis in January 2014, while Shuusai Rikudou is in charge of the manga adaptation that he publishes on the service AlphaPolis Web Manga since June 2014. This means that these light novels got their anime adaptation almost a decade after they started publishing.
