Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen confirms simulcast and announces its duration

During a special event held in Japan, where the first two episodes for the anime premiered exclusively Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen (Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War), it was officially announced that the series will premiere on October 10 on the Japanese television station TV Tokyo. On the other hand, the website Oricon revealed that this animated project will consist of four courses (each cour regularly consists of 12-13 episodes), however, these will not air consecutively.

In addition, the American distributor VIZ Average shared a new promotional video for the series and reported that the series will be simulcast, which means that its broadcast on other platforms will not have a delay compared to the Japanese broadcast. However, the services where it can be enjoyed in the West have not yet been confirmed.

The artists who will perform the series’ theme songs were also revealed. The singer Tatsuya Kitani will perform the opening theme “scar”while the singer produced by Hiroyuki Sawano, SennaRin will perform the ending theme Saihatte (The Further End).

Production team

  • Tomohisa Taguchi (Twin Star Exorcists, Kino’s Journey – The Beautiful World, Akudama Drive) replaces Noriyuki Abe in the direction of the project Studio Pierrotand is also in charge of writing and supervising the scripts in collaboration with Masaki Hiramatsu (Kara no Kyoukai, Minori Scramble!)
  • Masashi Kudō (Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch) returns to handle character design and animation direction.
  • Shirou Sagisu (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Black Bullet) is responsible for the composition of the soundtrack.

Synopsis for Bleach

Ichigo Kurosaki is an ordinary high school student, until his family is attacked by a Hollow, a corrupting spirit that seeks to devour human souls. It is then that he meets a Soul Reaper named Rukia Kuchiki, who is injured while she is protecting Ichigo’s family from the assailant. In order to save the family from him, Ichigo accepts Rukia’s offer to take her powers and as a result, becomes a Soul Reaper.

However, with Rukia unable to regain her own power, Ichigo is faced with the daunting task of hunting down the Hollows plaguing his city. However, he is not alone in his fight, as he is later joined by his friends: classmates Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado, and Uryuu Ishida, who have their own unique abilities. As Ichigo and his comrades adjust to their new responsibilities and support each other on and off the battlefield, the young Soul Reaper will soon discover that the Hollows are just the least of his problems.
