Date A Live’s fifth season will reveal more details in April

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the franchise Date A Live It was announced that, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the original light novels and the half anniversary of the smartphone video game Date A Live: Spirit Pledgethere will be a special broadcast on YouTube on April 5. More information about the previously announced fifth season of the anime adaptation will be revealed during this broadcast.

Additionally, this confirms that the panel that will be presented during the event AnimeJapan 2023which will take place on March 25 and 26 this year, will not include any new information about the anime adaptation.

The fourth season had its premiere scheduled for the season of Fall-2021 (October-December)but it was delayed due to “various production circumstances”, while the platform crunchyroll is in charge of its distribution in the West. For his part, Koushi Tachibana and Tsunako published the original light novels through the publishing label Fujimi Fantasy Bunko from the publisher Fujimi Shōbo between March 2011 and March 2020, with a total of twenty-two volumes.

Synopsis of Date A Live

Thirty years ago, a strange phenomenon called a Space Quake devastated central Eurasia, taking with it the lives of more than 150 million people. Since then, smaller spacequakes have been manifesting around the world. Shidou Itsuka, a seemingly normal high school student meets a girl at the epicenter of a spacequake.

He is informed by his sister Kotori that this girl is one of the spirits that, by making an appearance in the world, are the cause of said space earthquakes. He also learns that his sister is the captain of the Ratatoskr ship. She recruits him in order to make use of her mysterious ability to seal the powers of spirits. In order to prevent them from becoming a threat to humanity. However, there is a downside. In order to seal the powers of a Spirit, Shidou must make it fall in love with him.
