hibike! Euphonium will have an OVA and a third season in 2024
A press release announced that the franchise based on the novels written by Ayano Takeda Y Nikki Asada, hibike! euphonium (Sound! euphonium), will have two new animation projects that will be released in the years 2023 and 2024 in Japan. The information was confirmed during a special franchise event where the studios kyoto animation revealed that An OVA based on the “Ensemble Contest Arc” will be released in theaters in Japan in 2023, while the third season of the project will premiere in 2024.
The OVA of hibike! euphonium, which will be shown in a limited number of theaters in Japan, will also be released on Blu-ray in Japan at the same time. It has been confirmed that The third season will be set in Kumiko’s third year of high school, with our protagonist as one of the final year students of the Kitauji High School Concert Band.
For its part, Ayano Takeda Y Ayano Takeda they began publishing the light novels through the publisher Takarajimasha in December 2013, and they finished it in June 2019 with a total of twelve volumes. The work was adapted into a manga by Hami, who published it between November 2014 and October 2015, with a total of three compilation volumes.
The novels inspired a thirteen-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. kyoto animationunder the direction of Tatsuya Ishihara and scripts written by Jukki Hanadapremiered in April 2015.
