A leak from Weibo and the registration of the Internet domain “https://wataoshi-anime.com/” gave hints that the light novels written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata, I’m in Love with the Villainess (Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou), will have an anime adaptation. The leak is unconfirmed, and it also did not reveal any production details or a scheduled release date.

On the other hand, Inori started publishing online through the website Shousetsuka ni Narou in January 2018, and the publishing label GL Bunko makes its publication on paper with illustrations of Hanagata since December 2021. A manga adaptation by Aonomoto is published in the magazine Comic Yuri Hime from the publisher ichijinsha from the month of June 2020.

I’m in Love with the Villainess Synopsis

Office worker Rei Oohashi wakes up one day to find herself as Rae Taylor, the heroine of her favorite otome game, Revolution. Being surrounded by attractive men vying for her attention would be any maiden’s dream, but that’s not the case with Rae. None of them can compare to the villain, Claire François, whose blonde drill ringlets only accentuate her haughty and irresistible charm.

In the original story, Claire harasses and bullies the heroine, causing her to become close to male love interests. But Rae has no intention of going after any of the men; her heart is set on Claire herself. Unaccustomed to receiving affection, Claire is left at the mercy of Rae’s endless teasing. With the power of true love, can Rae successfully convey her feelings to the villain?
