Jujutsu Kaisen drops from the weekly sales ranking for the first time in a long time

The platform Oricon revealed the weekly manga volume sales ranking in Japan for the week of June 13-19 this year. The list was dominated by manga tokyo avengers, Kingdom Y SPY x FAMILYalthough the first released a new volume on June 17, which explains its high numbers.
However, what was also striking was the absence of jujutsu kaisen, which in the last two years has appeared in the weekly ranking almost without fail. His absence is probably due to the fact that no new compiled volume has been released since April this year (and the next one is scheduled until August), plus the fact that the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is no longer in theaters in Japan and there has been no new news about the second season from MAP.
The full listing includes:
- 1.Tokyo Avengers – 478,038 copies sold (released a new volume during the period).
- 2.Kingdom – 367,282 copies sold (released a new volume during the period).
- 3. SPY x FAMILY– 279,029 copies sold.
- 4. Golden Kamuy– 187,634 copies sold (released a new volume during the period).
- 5. Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) – 175,939 copies sold (released a new volume during the period).

Synopsis of Jujutsu Kaisen
High school student Yuuji Itadori, who engages in groundless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, spends his days either in the club room or in the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the bizarre when he unknowingly comes across a cursed item. Unleashing a chain of supernatural events, Yuuji finds himself suddenly plunged into the world of curses – terrible beings formed from human evil and negativity – after swallowing said object, which is revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the “King of Curses”.
Yuuji experiences firsthand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced into the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical School, he begins to walk a path from which he cannot return: that of a Jujutsu sorcerer.
