Jujutsu Kaisen reveals new visual and duration for its second season

During the event TOHO animation 10th Anniversary Big Thanks Event A new promotional image was revealed for the second season of the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, jujutsu kaisen. This new illustration is carried out by the stellar characters of the work, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki and Satoru Gojo. In addition, it was reported that this sequel will be made up of two cours, which means that it will last approximately six months (around 24 episodes).

These episodes will adapt the events that occurred in the Star Plasma Vessel Arc (Hidden inventory and early death) and also what happened in the Shibuya Arch. The sequel will be released sometime in 2023.

The visuals revealed today and last week represent the adaptation of each of the arcs and complement each other.

Gege Akutami the publication of the manga began in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from the publisher Shueisha in March 2018. The first season of the anime adaptation had a total of twenty-four episodes and premiered during the season of Autumn-2022 (October-December). An animated film titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and released on December 24, 2021 in theaters in Japan.

Synopsis of Jujutsu Kaisen

High school student Yuuji Itadori, who engages in groundless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, spends his days either in the club room or in the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the bizarre when he unknowingly comes across a cursed item. Unleashing a chain of supernatural events, Yuuji finds himself suddenly plunged into the world of curses -terrible beings formed from human evil and negativity- after swallowing said object, which is revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the “King of Curses”.

Yuuji experiences firsthand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced into the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical School, he begins to walk a path from which he will not be able to return: that of a Jujutsu sorcerer.
