Kaiko Sareta Ankoku Heishi Light Novels Will Get Anime Adaptation

Kodansha publishing house issued a press release announcing that the light novels written by Rokujuuyon Okazawa and illustrated by sage john, Kaiko sareta Ankoku Heishi (30-dai) no Slow in Second Life (The Slow Second Life of the Retired Dark Soldier in His 30s), will have an anime adaptation. The statement confirmed that the premiere is scheduled for January 2023, but did not reveal production details or the voice cast.

Rurekuchiewho is in charge of the manga adaptation, shared a special illustration to celebrate the announcement.

Okazawa began publishing the story through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in November 2018, and finished it in July 2020. The publisher Kodansha began its paper publication in August 2019, with illustrations by sage john. The manga adaptation by Rurekuchie is published in the magazine Young Magazine the 3rd of Kodansha since August 2019.

Dariel, a dark soldier from the demon king’s army who cannot use magic, has risen to the position of assistant to the Four Generals thanks to his talent and energy, and has been exercising his skill. However, as soon as the Four Generals are replaced, Dariel is fired from the army. Dariel is devastated, but when he arrives at a human village, he discovers that his adventurer skills, supposedly useless to demons, have blossomed! “I was… human?” Dariel decides to spend his second life in this village, and his requests begin to rain down! Issues! False accusation! Duel! With his natural abilities and the adjusting power he developed in his former place, the former dark soldier solves them all!
