On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Tomohito Oda, Komi-san wa, Komyushou Desu (Komi Can’t Communicate), the launch of a promotional campaign for the Blu-ray BOX package of the first season was announced. These types of campaigns are becoming more and more common within anime productions, since instead of ordering a certain number of albums to be made and risking them not being sold, reservation campaigns are made and the necessary ones are made to cover these reservations plus a safe margin.
But, obviously, a campaign also includes a series of benefits, and those of this franchise are more than interesting. Based on the amount of reservations achieved, fans could get the following benefits as part of the campaign which takes place from August 1 to September 30 of this year:
- 300 Reservations: The Blu-ray BOX release of the first season is decided.
- 500 Reservations: Package themed storage box is included.
- 1000 Reservations: English subtitles and an official franchise art book are added.
- 1500 Reservations: Added a replica of Komi-san’s notebook and a set of illustrations.
- 2000 Reservations: Komi-san’s stockings are added.
- 2500 Reservations: A special book about the production team is added, possibly with interviews.
- 3000 Reservations: A special live event will be held with the participation of the voice actors Aoi Kōga (Shouko Komi) Gakuto Kajiwara (Tadano Hitohito) and Rie Murakawa (Najimi Osana).
Finally, the launch (if 300 reservations are achieved) is scheduled for next December 23 in Japan and will include the entirety of the first season, with a price of 28,000 yen (about 212 US dollars), excluding taxes and fees. Shipping, since the english subtitles are obviously a measure for the package to be sold abroad.
This second season of Komi-san wa, Komyushou Desu It was broadcast during the Spring-2022 season (April-June) and on the platform Netflix globally since last April 27. The first season premiered during the season of Autumn-2021 (October-December)with Netflix premiering the episodes two weeks after they air in Japan.
