Pop Team Epic reveals a new visual for its second season

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Bkub Ookawa, Pop Team Epic (Poputepipikku), a new promotional image was published for the second season of the project. The press release also maintains the release date scheduled for next October in Japan.
The promotional image’s tagline writes: “This is a story of hopes and dreams (pure bullshit)». The statement also reported that a temporary product store will be opened entitled “Pop Team Epic Pop Up Shop” in the shopping complex Shibuya Marui on August 11, which will include a wide variety of new products.

The series is based on a yonkoma (four-panel) manga written and illustrated by Bkub Ookawa and originally aired on the season of Winter-2018 (January-March) in a thirty minute block. The episodes are divided into two parts, both being practically the same but changing the voice actors in each broadcast.
Production team
- Jun Aoki (Gal to Kyouryuu, Ore, Tsushima) is in charge of directing the anime at the studios Space Neko Company in collaboration with studios Kamikaze Douga. He is also in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Gin (BUSTED ROSE) is responsible for the composition of the soundtrack, counting on the production of King Records.
Synopsis for Pop Team Epic
Poputepipikku takes the wacky comedy up a notch with its pop culture references and surreal hilarity. With two true high school protagonists – Popuko, short and exceptionally quick to anger, and Pipimi, tall and unwaveringly calm – they throw genres against the wall and don’t wait to see what sticks. The parody is intertwined with the drama, the action, the grittiness, and the overall goal of the series: to become a real anime.
