Shirobako director announces anime Shuumatsu Train Doko and Iku?

The company Kadokawa announced the production of an original anime titled Shuumatsu Train Doko and Iku? (Where Does the Doomsday Train Go?). The press release included a promotional image whose tagline reads: “I wonder if we were friends», but did not reveal any production details or a scheduled release date.

This project was announced in commemoration of the anniversary of the “Railway Day (鉄道の日)“, which commemorates the date in 1872 when Shimbashi was linked to Yokohama by rail. The Railway Festival that takes place aims to promote awareness of railway safety, but more broadly it acts as an event where adults and children can learn more about trains and the railway network.
Regarding this animation project, it has the participation of the director Tsutomu Mizushimawho has already directed projects such as Girls und Panzer Y Shirobakō, to name a few. The press release did not include any comment from the director.
