So were the corrections of SPY x FAMILY on the Blu-ray / DVD

We have previously commented on the Twitter user “井上トロ (@g6xa3awstGCEljS)“, who acquires the Blu-ray / DVD compilation packages of the most popular anime series of the season and reviews what were the corrections made to the production with respect to the broadcast on television. I couldn’t miss the review SPY x FAMILYissued during the season of Spring-2022 (April-June)although it will not surprise anyone that the fixes are, in fact, very minimal.

The first correction comes when the Forger Family goes to the tailor shop to have Anya’s uniform made. The correction comes at the time of a shot change, as the owner of the tailor shop had her pincushion on her left wrist in the previous scene, but in the TV version she had it on her right at the scene change. On the Blu-ray this was corrected by removing the hand cushion.

The second correction comes when the evaluations are being made to the families of the Eden Academy applicants. Master Henderson is moved by the elegance of the Forger Family and in his exasperation drops his cane, although at the change of take in the television version he is not shown on the ground. That was what they corrected on the Blu-ray, adding the aforementioned cane lying on the ground after the scene change.

Did you notice these glitches when the anime aired on TV? They are certainly so minimal that only the most experienced critics will have noticed. The most interesting thing though is, how did the animators find out about these glitches? Is there a “post-broadcast on television” review committee that reviews these aspects?

Synopsis for SPY x FAMILY

For the agent known as “Twilight”, no order is too high if it is for the sake of peace. Operating as Westalis’ master spy, Twilight works tirelessly to stop extremists from unleashing a war with neighboring Ostania. For his latest mission, he must investigate Ostanian politician Donovan Desmond by infiltrating his son’s school: the prestigious Eden Academy. Thus, the agent faces the most difficult task of his career: getting married, having a child and playing family.

Twilight, or “Loid Forger”, quickly adopts humble orphan Anya to play the role of a six-year-old daughter and prospective Eden Academy student. As a wife, she meets Yor Briar, an absent-minded office worker who needs a fake partner to impress her friends. However, Loid is not the only one with a hidden nature. Yor is actually the deadly assassin “Thorn Princess” and for her, marrying Loid creates the perfect cover. Meanwhile, Anya is not the ordinary girl she appears to be; she is an esper, the product of secret experiments that allow her to read minds. Although she discovers her true identities, Anya is thrilled that her new parents are cool secret agents! She would never tell them, of course. That would spoil the fun.
