The anime Bocchi the Rock! announce its release date

Through the official website for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Aki Hamaji, Bocchi the Rock!, it was announced that the project has its premiere scheduled for next October on television stations in Japan. A new promotional image for the series was also released, starring Hitori Gotou, Ijichi, Nijika Ijichi, Ryou Yamada, and Ikuyo Kita.

Production team

Yoshino Aoyama plays the protagonist Hitori Gotou.
Keiichiro Saitou (Boogiepop wa Warawanai (2019), The [email protected] SideM, Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On) is in charge of directing the anime at the studios CloverWorks.
Erika Yoshida (Kami no Tou, Trickster: Edogawa Ranpo “Shounen Tanteidan” yori, Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
Kerorira (Shiroi Suna no Aquatope, Darling in the FranXX, Endro~!) is in charge of character design and animation direction.

Hamaji began publication of the manga through the magazine Manga Time Kirara Max from the publisher Houbunsha in December 2017. The publisher published the second compiled book volume in February 2020, followed by the third on February 25, 2021 in Japan. The fourth volume will be released on August 26.

Synopsis for Bocchi the Rock!

Hitori Gotou is a high school girl who starts learning to play the guitar because she dreams of being in a band, but she is so shy that she hasn’t made a single friend. However, her dream could come true after meeting Nijika Ijichi, a girl who plays drums and is looking for a new guitarist for her band.
