The Berserk Movie Trilogy Will Get a TV Version This Year

As part of the celebrations surrounding the franchise Berserk this year, the anime film trilogy Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc) will have its first broadcast on television this year in Japan. The films will be re-released under the title “Memorial Edition“, although at the moment the details of the re-released version have not been confirmed. The press release included a promotional video and a visual.
The version “Memorial Edition” of the film trilogy is part of a larger celebration of Berserkwhich includes an exhibition of Kentarou Miura who is currently touring Japan, as well as the release of the first chapter of the series written by Studio Gaga (Miura’s team of assistants) under the watchful eye of a close friend of Miura’s, Koji Morifollowing the death of the manga’s creator last year.

- Toshiyuki Kanno (Black Lagoon), Shingo Uchida (Shingeki no Kyojin 3rd Season), Y Toshiyuki Kubooka (Majo no Tabitabi) were in charge of directing the film project in Studio 4°C.
- Ichirou Ookōchi (Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch, Guilty Crown, Devilman: Crybaby) was in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Naoyuki Onda (Psycho-Pass, Ergo Proxy, Inuyashiki) was in charge of animation direction and character design.
- Shirou Sagisu (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Rebuild of Evangelion) was responsible for the composition of the soundtrack.

Berserk Synopsis: Ougon Jidai-hen
In the Kingdom of Midland, a mercenary named Guts wanders the land, preferring a life of conflict to a life of peace. Although the odds are never in his favor, he is an unstoppable force that defeats any opponent, wielding a massive sword larger than himself. One day, Griffith, the mysterious leader of the Band of the Hawk mercenary group, witnesses the warrior’s battle prowess and invites the wandering swordsman to join his squad. Refusing the offer, Guts challenges Griffith to a duel and, to the former’s surprise, is defeated and forced to join. Now, Guts must fight alongside Griffith and his crew to help Midland defeat Chuder’s Empire. However, Griffith seems to harbor ulterior motives, wishing for something much greater than resolving the war…
