The fifth episode of Isekai Ojisan will be delayed by two weeks

After the broadcast of the fourth episode of the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Hotondo Shindeiru, Isekai Ojisan (Uncle from Another World), it was announced that the broadcast of the fifth episode of the series, scheduled for next August 3, will be delayed two weeks, until August 17.

The cause is the rapid increase in cases of COVID-19 within the facilities of the Atelier Pontdarc studios, in charge of the production of this project. The sixth and seventh episodes will air normally on August 24 and 31, while the first two episodes will air again in Japan on August 3 and 10.

The most interesting thing is that this could put the broadcast on Netflix globally, which began on July 20, in line with the broadcast in Japan, this being the first time that the platform will broadcast “really in simulcast” if that is the case. A two-week break is also not announced. This is because the anime started airing two weeks behind Japan, so the two-week hiatus ends up adjusting the schedule.

The series has been broadcast since July 6 and is confirmed with a total of thirteen episodes. For its part, Hotondo Shindeiru publish the manga through the service comicwalker from the publisher Kadokawa since June 2018, after publishing it for a while independently through Twitter Y pixiv. The literary franchise has surpassed 1.5 million copies in circulation.

Shigeki Kawai is in charge of directing the anime in the studios Atelier Pontdarc (founded by Tsunaki Yoshikawa, one of the White Fox producers who left the company this year).

Synopsis of Isekai Ojisan

Autumn 2017. The nephew, Takafumi, went to the hospital to visit his uncle, who had just woken up from a seventeen-year-old coma. However, he seems to have lost his mind, as he claims that he was in another world called “Grand Bahamar” during all this time, and even seems to speak a strange language. But everything changes when his uncle, an ordinary human, shows him that he learned to use magic in the other world. Thus, when Takafumi realizes that the magic his uncle uses is completely real, he proposes that she use his skills to become a successful YouTuber. Now taking care of him, Takafumi and his uncle start to get involved in the streaming life, while his uncle tells him from time to time about his life in the other world.
