The Slow Second Life of the Retired Dark Soldier reveals its first trailer

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Rokujuuyon Okazawa and illustrated by Sage John, The Slow Second Life of the Retired Dark Soldier in His 30s (Kaiko sareta Ankoku Heishi (30-dai) no Slow na Second Life), the first promotional video of the project was published. The video reveals more members of the voice cast, confirms that the release date is scheduled for January 7, 2023 in Japan and shows a snippet of the opening theme titled “Changemaker” and performed by Hinano.

More members of the voice cast were also revealed, including:

Okazawa began publishing the story through the independent service Shoutsuka ni Narou in November 2018, and finished it in July 2020. The publisher kodansha began its publication on paper in August 2019, with illustrations by Sage John. The adaptation to sleeve of the hand of rurekuchie is published in the magazine Young Magazine the 3rd from Kodansha since August 2019.

Hitomi Amemiya (Astarotte no Omocha!, Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho: Tou, Merc Storia: Mukiryoku no Shounen to Bin no Naka no Shoujo) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
reimi yonezawa is in charge of character design and animation direction.
Tsubasa Itō (Princess Connect! Re:Dive, Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai and Odekakechuu, Iwa Kakeru!: Sport Climbing Girls) is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

Synopsis for The Slow Second Life of the Retired Dark Soldier in His 30s

Dariel, a dark soldier in the demon king’s army who cannot use magic, has risen to the position of assistant to the Four Generals thanks to his talent and energy, and has been exercising his ability. However, as soon as the Four Generals are replaced, Dariel is fired from the army. Dariel is devastated, but when he arrives at a human village, he discovers that his adventuring abilities, supposedly useless to demons, have flourished! “I was… human?” Dariel decides to spend his second life in this village, and his requests start to pour in! Issues! False accusation! Duel! With his natural abilities and the adjusting power he developed in his former place, the ancient dark soldier solves them all!
