The yaoi Ten Count will be an anime film in 2023

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the yaoi manga written and illustrated by Rihito Takarai, Ten Countit was announced that the project will be an animated feature film that will be released in 2023 in theaters in Japan. It should be remembered that the project was originally going to be released in 2020, but was delayed indefinitely after the production team reconsidered the format of the project.

Takarai began publication of the manga in the magazine Dear Plus from the publisher shishokan in July 2013 and ended it in November 2017, with a total of six compilation volumes. Previously it had also been revealed that the work will be part of an OVA project titled 6 loverswhich was released in February 2021 in Japan.

Production team

• Sou Toyama (Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, Karakuri Circus, Major 2nd, Koi to Uso) is in charge of directing the anime at the studios East Fish Studio Y SynergySPand they are also in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
• Tomomi Shimazaki (Vampire in the Garden, Kakkou no Iinazuke, EUREKA: Koukyoushihen Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution) is in charge of character design and animation direction.

Synopsis for Ten Count

Tadaomi Shirotani is the secretary to the president of the Tosawa Corporation, and is a severe mysophobe (extreme fear of dirt). His obsessive-compulsive disorder has limited him in everything from not being able to leave the house without gloves, to washing his hands so hard they bleed. When the president of the company has an accident, he is saved by a mysterious young man who leaves as fast as he appears.

Ordered to chase after him, Shirotani runs into Riku Kurose, a man who quickly picks up on his mysophobia. Reluctantly following the advice to seek professional help, Shirotani visits a psychiatrist, again meeting Kurose, who is revealed to be his doctor. Thus, a relationship full of secrets will begin between Shirotani and his new adviser, who urges him to list all the things he does not like to do and leaving the tenth blank.
