Tokyo Revengers reveals progress and more voices for its second season

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by ken wakui, tokyo avengers, a new promotional video for the second season of the project was released. The video was revealed during the event “Tokyo Avengers’ Halloween Special 2022!“, and reveals that the voice actors Tomokazu Sugita Y Mikako Komatsu have joined the cast as the voices of Taiju Shiba and Yuzuha Shiba, respectively.

On the other hand, the series will be released in January 2023 and, as previously reported, keeps Masaya Fukunishi as the new voice of Ken “Draken” Ryuuguujiafter the expulsion of Tatsuhisa Suzuki after being involved in an infidelity scandal.

A twenty-four episode anime adaptation produced by studios LIDEN FILMS premiered in the season of Spring-2021 (April-June) in Japan. Crunchyroll handled its distribution in the West, and the original manga is currently in its final stretch.

  • Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Jujutsu Kaisen, Dr. STONE, Ao Haru Ride) is responsible for the composition of the soundtrack.

Synopsis for Tokyo Avengers

Takemichi Hanagaki’s second year of high school was the high point of his life. He had respect, a gang of friends he could count on, and even a girlfriend. But that was twelve years ago. Today she is a nobody: a rickety nothing who is made fun of by children and who is always forced to apologize to her youngest boss. A sudden news about the cruel murder by the Tokyo Manji gang of the only girlfriend he had with her brother only adds insult to injury. Half a second before a train ends her pitiful life forever, Takemichi recalls that same day twelve years ago, when she was still dating Hinata Tachibana.

After being forced to relive the same day his downward spiral began, Takemichi meets Hinata’s little brother. Without thinking, he admits his apparent death before going back in time. Takemichi urges her to protect her sister from him before inexplicably returning to the future. Miraculously, he is not dead. Stranger still, the future has changed. It seems that Takemichi can alter the flow of time. Given the opportunity to prevent the tragic death of his ex-girlfriend at the hands of the Tokyo Manji gang, Takemichi decides to fly through time to change the course of the future.
